Don't use at all, stay clear, nearly 9 month to complete on a buy to let. Shocking. Don't answer emails, speak to other agency dealing with sale. I can't give minus 5 or lower. Very very unprofessional. Stay away. And still not completed always an excuse. Application for mortgage done twice, stay away.

1 year agoAbsolutely wonderful service from Amanda who went above and beyond for me when buying a property and making sure it completed on time.
She has been so supportive and helpful with what ended up being a very stressful transaction (due to an awful remortgage solicitor). She has helped keep me sane throughout this process!
If you want someone who is friendly, down to earth, polite while being efficient and professional, I would definitely recommend Amanda!

4 years agoGlacially slow to respond and need chasing constantly, even for simple tasks. Feels like you’re dealing with solicitors back in 1897 when they were established. Things move fast these days and if your solicitors aren’t doing the same then you’re just slowing things down.
This goes for the property side of things. I’ve used them for wills before and they were fine. After the time lost chasing them recently I won’t be using them again though. Glad I’m not using them for the sale of my house!
The reception staff are very polite and professional.

4 years agoSenior Solicitor Heather Broadfield misrepresented information in an important document which was submitted to the courts and tribunals service because Dootsons believe they can decide which information is relevant and which is not, irrespective of what information is requested. When I accused her of doctoring the forms, Andrew Stockton threatened me with libel action. As I was able to educate him on exactly why she had doctored the forms and excluded information, no such action was taken. In my opinion, they are inept, rude, weak and lazy. They also seem to be completely unaware of their obligations to respond to Subject Access Requests. I wouldn't trust Dootsons to put a stamp on an envelope and will be sharing the full extent of my experience with Dootsons with every human being I speak to in the next 12 months, until I calm down from the anger that their stupidity has caused me.

5 years agoIf you want a very slow and very stressful move then by all means go with them, otherwise stay clear!!!
Was one of the problem solicitors in our chain and very nearly cost us our dream home.
We've moved a few times and this was by far the most stressful and drawn out move! Look at updating your processes!

5 years agoHired Dootsons for an eviction of a tenant. I paid them originally for talking with them around £500, i was then charged £756 for them to witness statements and schedule of costs (for my tenant not paying for 1 whole year). To cut a long story short. None of their work reached the court in time, they sent it like a day or so before on a bank holiday weekend. And Paul Hatton my acting solicitor went on holiday (so i couldn't even rant to him). So i came out of court with the property as the tenant had actually surrendered at this point. But paid Dootsons over a £1000 for nothing!!!! Stay well away. Go to a solicitor who will actually help you and do work correctly for their money
