We recently had to say goodbye to our much-loved next-door neighbour, Kenny, and entrusted Sankey & Monks Funeral Directors with the arrangements. During such a difficult time, their team went above and beyond to support us with warmth, compassion, and professionalism.
A heartfelt thank you to Lesley, Jen, Helen, and Paul — each of you showed such kindness and care, making sure every detail was handled with respect and thoughtfulness. You truly made a heartbreaking time a little easier with your calm guidance and genuine empathy.
Kenny was given the send-off he deserved, and we’re so grateful to all of you for helping us honour his memory in such a beautiful way. Your support meant the world to us and won’t be forgotten.

1 year agoI had both my Grandma's (2015) and Uncle's funeral service (2024) here and both times the service was excellent. The staff are very respectful and dignified. They are also very helpful and the gentlemen who carried the coffin were very professional and all round top blokes. The lady who carried out the service for my uncle in December 2024 made what was a difficult day a more humorous one. She is an excellent story teller when she was describing the life of my uncle and most people in attendance had a smile and a chuckle at times. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again. Thank you for everything you have done 👍

1 year agoI cannot recommend this funeral company enough . The personal care and attention to detail was perfect. Everybody said it was one of the nicest service they had been to. The chapel was perfect. It provided a homely and personak setting. The staff are excellent. Helped to make an emotional time much easier. Thankyou

2 years agoSankey and monks did a service for our brother diarmuid Johnson on Monday 1st July may we thank you for a wonderful service Excellent staff very helpful lovely send off recommended only problem chapel only seats 30 plus no other rooms or TV link or speakers outside for people unable to get in otherwise Excellent service thank you Johnson family

It was not his they're place to go to family and twist lie even shouldn't have said anything not his place so yh thanku for ruining my family funeral for me hope your proud ad I'll never get another chance to say goodbye

2 years agoThe staff here at sankey and monks are so lovely, they treat you like family, very professional company that has budgets to suit all pockets. They had lots of knowledge and was able to answer all the questions I asked. There is a lovely Chapel on site which is clean and beautiful decorated, it is such a Calming atmosphere. I highly reccomend this place. Keep up the good work everyone ?.

2 years agoI can not speak highly enough of Sankey & Monks.My mother passed away suddenly. From the first moment my mum was treated with such respect ,care and passion l can not thank Lesley enough . She as gone above and beyond to make this traumatic sad time easier for myself and my family. The care and passion she puts into everything she does. Lesley just an amazing lady. The order of service was absolutely spot on thanks to Jen mum would be smiling. The drivers were amazing made sure they got mum to the front of her home even though it was very tricky .not forgetting Stacey who made sure everything went to plan on the day you was amazing. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart xxxx

2 years agoI highly recommend this company. My brother in law died unexpectedly and we were all in shock. From the very first phone call I felt a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. Lesley, Ebony and Jenny are absolutely brilliant. Lesley organised everything and even helped us to design a bespoke order of service leaflet which was perfect. Paul and his colleagues took the very best care of us all on the day and were so respectful. First class and so dignified. The flowers were stunning and Lisa, the celebrant , delivered a beautiful and fitting tribute. Thank you all so very much. We are so very lucky to have such a caring, professional service in our town.

3 years agoI cannot speak highly enough of Sankey & Monks. My Grandad was treated as though he was still with us. Their first thought was for his care and keeping him comfortable whilst he was with them.
Jen and Ebony were amazing. They went above and beyond with the care for my Grandad and our grieving family.
Thank you for all that you have done, It will never be forgotten. My nan still talks about both Jen and Ebony, 6 months later.

3 years agoMy father passed away in mid December and having read previous positive reviews, decided to use Sankey and monks for his funeral arrangements.
I am so pleased that i did. From initial contact to post funeral, I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism, sensitivity and support from their service.
What was an emotional time was made easier by the way they handled arrangements, to the smallest of details in a sensitive and compassionate manner.
I cannot speak highly enough of Ebony, Jen and Lesley who dealt with me. Their person centred and empathic approach is a credit to themselves and their profession.
The funeral itself went without hitch and was conducted exactly in accordance with my wishes. Lisa who conducted the service was also exemplary in her eulogy and did a superb job in capturing the essence of my father in a celebration of his life.
Do not hesitate in using Sankey and Monks, they are first class and I thank them enormously for a job well done.

3 years agoThank you will never be enough for the love and support we got from all the Team at Sankeys, from first contact we were looked after and given the support we needed during this very sad time. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was perfect on the day. I would not hesitate to recommend to everyone. Special thanks to Jenny, Lesley and Debbie for your kindness and how you cared for us all and to Paul for his attention to detail, it’s the little touches that touch your heart. We will never forget what you did for us You are all truly amazing and work so hard to support people at this very difficult time, massive hugs to you all ??

Our auntie’s funeral was beautiful and your excellent team were so kind and professional that we had no need to worry about anything. All arrangements were made for us and you guided us through them all very well. We were very happy with all that you did for my auntie and us as her family. Very many thanks to you all.

5 years agoAt a difficult time ,I found Sankey &Monks provided a superb service. I felt that Diane really listened to what I wanted ,never rushed me and was really lovely. Though nobody wants to plan a funeral, all the staff will help you.

6 years agoI recently lost my beautiful dad. We went to Sankey and monks through a recommendation and I am so glad we did. The service is amazing from start to finish. They were extremely supportive and went through everything with us so we could understand everything clearly. On the day of the funeral they really were amazing. The respect they had for us as a family was so heartwarming. They gave us such a lovely send off for my dad. I will be forever grateful
