Lovely place which seems to be well maintained. Lots of hides and viewpoints over the lake and wetlands/nature reserve. Short walk to reach the Leeds-Liverpool canal albeit there is a steep bank to get up to it. Sadly Wigan Council has withdrawn the car park from the blue badge scheme meaning that blue badge holders have to pay despite it being a council run car park and not private. £2.50 is a reasonable price for parking all day and for the upkeep, however I feel that people that are able to park on the street and walk can avoid the £2.50 fee, when people with reduced mobility are not. Plenty of benches to sit along the paths. Mostly wheelchair accessible except paths are not gravel/tarmac.

Fab park and nature reserve. Had a picnic, lots of benches to choice from in lots of different spots. Spent a couple of hours on the park. Mini fun fair and bouncy castles availbale. Food vans and also a cafe.

We love it here, and the renovation is fantastic! Lovely place for a littlw nibble, ice cream and for the kids to play. You can buy bird seed to feed the birds at the lake and lots of places to walk! Parking is super easy and clear.
