Last Friday(06-12-24) M&S used a free 1kg Belgian Chocolate Biscuits tin to bait new members to join its Sparks scheme. The promised coupon was issued to my Sparks app instantly however it vanished into thin air while I was on way to a branch to claim for it. M&S singlehandedly retrieved it after having issued it to its member. M&S staff at the Helpline this morning said that the free gift was meant for a chosen few and that it was a system error by sending it to all newly joined members. And, there is NOTHING M&S is gonna do about that. I raised a formal complaint to M&S and got a reply, quote, "Our Sparks offers are designed to be personalized, meaning they vary from one customer to another based on shopping habits and preferences." How on earth do you have any data and statistics on "shopping habits and preferences" for a NEWLY enrolled Sparks member, in order to decide which one to offer the free gift? It clearly stated on the coupon that it was not a lucky draw and the recipient has 5 days to claim it. Shame on M&S!

1 year agoSadly, I didn’t get the girls name who served me at the click and collect yesterday. It was around 6pm, and she was helping a newer member of staff train. She was very nice and really polite and helpful when I couldn’t remember my postcode and I had to log back on. Thank you !

3 years agoEnjoy shopping at the foodstore and like the products..however I don't like bakery items on display uncovered with flies about at the moment..very off putting would not buy...please put in transparent bags like you did during pandemic please

3 years agoThe ladies at the counter in the cafe were amazingly nice and helpful they put a loverly smile on our faces all day. We certainly will return regularly and if M&S have an award scheme these ladies need to win it !

4 years agoVisited today and was served by Kathryn in the cafe.You couldn't meet a more friendly lady.She talks to you has if she's known you for years.She made me feel welcome and the coffee was excellent to you must pay a visit

Your prawn cocktail starter was divine, we had the rump steak, tender stem broccoli and three times cooked chips along with the flavoursome pepper sauce then cheesecake dessert. How do you do it? 5 years agoOn my recent visit not a single staff member was wearing a mask! Every single customer was.
Makes you wonder if they are washing their hands regularly or using sanitiser if they don't think they need to wear masks whilst dealing with customers food.
When I went to IKEA EVERY staff member was wearing a mask.

6 years agoI buy the bulk of my groceries at M&S in Leigh. The staff are always pleasant and very helpful. The quality of the food,and all other items for that matter, is excellent.

6 years agoGorgeous food. I took 3 of my 5 grandchildren to buy fruit platter, BBQ items, bread buns etc. During our 30 degree heat wave. Customer service was great, cool tempature store, helpful staff. Kiddies welcomed to choose their little shop. Highly recommend this store. Thanks

7 years agoThis is food only. Nicely presented,spacious. Fab selection of wines. Chinese share meal box for two was great, plenty in the box good price too.
Only negative was,asked for the free from section and majority was gluten free, hoping with it being only a small store this was the reason for not much variety on free from.

8 years agoGreat to have a wee Marks and Sparks food locally. It doesn't have the full range of a larger store but I can always find something I want to eat. Nice little cafe as well and I've also ordered party food which was excellent. Staff at friendly and helpful and the store is always clean.
