I like Aldi, and the range of products is good, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other supermarkets. I would have given it 4 stars but for the proliferance of self-service checkouts. No manned checkouts were in evidence. However, to be fair, I asked the manager who happened to be near the tills if there was a manned checkout, and he opened one up straightaway, no argument (I did not count how many there were). I will be returning as long as I am able to be served by staff (it was the first time I had been to this store in a while).

1 year agoThis Aldi store is part of Parsonage retail park next to Home Bargains also near The Range & Iceland . The Parsonage Pub is in a very short walk in the same area which is child friendly. Aldi is quite spacious , ilses are wide with well set out product shelving & a wide variety of stock from Beer / Wine / Fruit / Veg / DIY section / Home & Garden section / Fridge & Frozen products , not a massive store but well put together for everyday purchases , you really can't go wrong & pick up a bargain all under one roof spot on 👍

2 years agoA trolley of goods and the only tills were self checkout. 13 failures requiring an assistant. At least there was plenty of space in the carpark. Odd that the self-checkouts seemed so busy in comparison.

2 years agoI stopped going to this branch, always empty shelves, not the tidiest. Might sound harsh too, but all the staff I've noticed ar this branch, see to think they're better than they actually are.

2 years agoMembers of a ring are following shoppers. None verbal abuse was given by staff and the networks gaslighting victims who whistle-blower on this ring. Using lies to troll the rings survivors. Crime & corruption using many different people in this community ring. First reported on BBC news of the cover-ups Jimmy savel and wider.

3 years agoGood central location. It's a busy store, so they find it challenging to keep everything on the shelves fully stocked at all times. Flip side is that almost everything is always very fresh.

3 years agoShop regularly at Aldi now. But their prices are slowly going up. Nevertheless still cheaper than the others.
Janet Blackburn
3 years agoThere is a great selection of foods here at great prices. They even have brand name products in the middle aisles for cheaper than at other supermarkets. My only complaint would be that there is often no milk or eggs, which are essential items

3 years agoI've made Aldi my main choice for the food shop. Better than lidl and the quality of food is good. Good place to save with everything that's going on.

3 years agoWhen all the more local Aldi sell out of my favourite things, this one will still have a few in stock. It's big and it's friendly. Parking is tight. There's a big B&M next door and it's close to a big Sainsbury's, Morrisons and a Sports shop with great shoes. Big Aldi fan, except when they run out of my favourite crackers. Fruit and veg, Quiche, cheese ready meals, soups, houmous are all better quality than other stores

3 years agoAwful, management have no clue, 3 tills open with customers queing back 10 a peice each line. Staff are useless and would rather stack beans than serve paying customers. Litrally 3 tills open yet 10 staff stacking shelves. Bad bad management

3 years agoWell known brand. Typical supermarket in Leigh with homeless people seating outside :D Extra star for being my choice for groceries.

3 years agoThere's always something in the middle aisle to have a gander at! However, on the day we visited, the card machines were having a bit of a dickydo, so none of the shoppers could pay by card. I'm happy the cashier was able to hold onto our shopping whilst my partner ran to the cashpoint to get some money out. Our shopping cost us ~£30!

4 years agoWhat's not to love about Aldi... I bought a mixer tap recently and fitted it in my kitchen. A few days later it started to weep at a joint that i had no way of re-securing as it was internal. I returned it and was given a full refund with no quibble and an apology. Brilliant service Aldi. I've since replaced the mixer tap and had no problems..... cheers ?
Michael Murphy
4 years agoVery disappointed with there no quibble exchange policy. Customers were treated like cattle and 2 checkout staff were left to deal with long queues and customer service even though the manager was on the shop floor. Lost my custom.
Elaine Fletcher
4 years agoAlways clean with friendly staff great prices and good quality stock, parking can be challenging shared car park with bm bargains seems to have been designed by a five year old but with common sense and courtesy can be managed, definitely worth a visit.

4 years agoIt's that time of year when we are all looking for that Christmas indulgence or just something different to celebrate the season. Aldi are brilliant at this. Festive bites, unusual gift ideas. Stollen!! I love Stollen. Most places sell Christmas puds of various flavours ... not many sell Figgy Pudding!! This particular store has installed the new "chiller cupboards" or whatever you call them on the whole aisle which not only makes it easy to display and keep the shelves tidier behind the large perspex doors but it also helps the environment by only keeping the food areas cold and not the customers as well. Still one of my weekly visits where I can get more for less from good manufacturers, something we all need to consider. I think all Aldi's staff deserve some recognition for all they have had to endure during the pandemic. They have to work incredibly hard compared to most supermarkets but have done so with a smile, understanding and commitment. Well done and a Merry Christmas to you all. ____________________ Everyman and his dog from this area will have been here at least once so what can I add. Well, Aldi is Aldi wherever you are. Great products at great prices. This is not a discount store as the press keep telling us. It's a serious supermarket on a smaller scale with different brands, most of which I prefer to their more expensive named counterparts. It's not fancy and has a limited choice but it does what it says on the tin. This particular one is a relative new build so benefits from a better layout and a toilet.....not all of them do! I know there are newer and bigger stores around but this one is my go to and I personally think that this largely due to the staff who are cheerful, helpful and courteous. That does not detract from the staff in other stores...this one just gels with me. My only negative is you have to be selective about the times you visit. Nothing to do with Aldi but with the new stores, health centres and housing being built, yet again it would have been a good idea if our local authorities had considered the impact on traffic flow. This kind of over development in such a small area does a great disservice to all involved as gridlock is inevitable.

4 years agoWhat makes a shop/business different if they deal with many common products just like a chain of stores or even competitors do, is the staff who work there. I found some staff in this store rude and doesn't really care to serve the customers. When I visited, the staff at the checkouts wore headphones, listening to something and sniggering sometimes, without looking at the customers. Therefore no communication or not like looking at the customers and say Hello. When I asked if they took cash, he said Yes. When I started to take some coins out of my purse, he became impatient and said if I had any notes. I did but I didn't want all the change coming back to me in my small purse but he said "Give me the note and I'll give you change. It's easier." and took the note off my hand I was holding. I didn't hand it over. He took it off me! Isn't that rude? I work in a corporate environment and a large shop like Aldi needs to ensure a thorough staff training to be had, particularly "How to deal with customers" which is a pretty basic thing, is extremely important. If it's in my company, he'll be taken off the till and be put into a stockroom! His focus was not to serve the customer. Very disappointed. Whereas Aldi in Leigh town centre, the staff actually communicate and I haven't met a rude one like the one in Parsonage.
