I order first time and I can’t believe the taste was amazing I really loved it the curry I order with garlic Nan Superb and want to order again defiantly

1 year agoAfter our 4th order with Indian 1 over the past year I can say that the taste of their food is spot on, really, no complaints, however each time we have ordered here there is usually 1 slight way in which we feel they have undercut us, wether it is the lack of protein (not much chicken in the curry, or vegetable curry being 90% onion and no other vegetables) or paying full price for 1 singular medium sized smashed up poppadom? (Could have atleast given 2 since we are paying full price) or not providing the usual salad, I can understand not providing the sauces for free however it would be nice if you provided a free mint yoghurt on large orders like ours have been (just a suggestion). Other than feeling slightly overcharged for what we have received from our previous orders the only other complaint would be the greasyness of the food, there has been visibly too much oil on every single food item EVERYTIME we order, it does taste very nice though.

1 year agoMy first time here and I received my order 20-30 mins earlier than expected on a Saturday night, food was piping hot and very tasty, i recommend the korai and the prawn masala .. will definitely make this my go-to Indian 🙏

1 year agoMy previous review isn’t here. I ordered a meal Sunday evening for delivery. Delivered quickly by a lovely lady. Sadly the food was cold. I requested no onions but the seek kebab was covered with onions. I ordered four starters instead of a main meal. Every takeaway in the past always include the yogurt mint dip with seek kebabs and chicken tikka.but not from this place so a very dry meal. Prawn puri tasteless with awful chewy prawns. Chicken tikka was in slices not the usual cubes and didn’t taste or look like tikka. Sadly won’t be using again

1 year agoNever fails this place on taste .always hot .earlier than expected. Can't rate them enough. Tonight iv had lamb saag. Can be hit and miss lamb in a lot of takeaways. Tender and flavourful. ❤️

1 year agoOrdered food late last night,the guy said 20 minutes,drove on and was greeted by a thoroughly nice chap who called me by my first name which I find a nice touch. The food came early and it was bloody lovely! Lots of extras,great taste and very filling. I've been struggling to find a good curry house in Leigh....this is now my go to place. Good music in the background too,thanks fellas,really enjoyed my meal.

1 year agoYou can tell that the meat isn’t cooked in the sauce. So bland and probably the worst curry I have ever eaten. Unsure how this place is even got one star never mind Four, all I can put it down to is the lack of taste buds the regular clientele possess. I knew the idea of also selling kebabs under the same banner was a sign………stick to the tasteless food for drunken piss heads, all your missing is a burger and chips off your menu.

2 years agoTried here for the first time after being recommended by my son. Despite the 2 star food hygiene rating, I put this to the back of my mind. Delivery driver 5*, very friendly. We messed up our order and for some reason our main course wasn't picked up on the app. Didn't realise until we rang to ask where our main meal was. Customer service at Indian1 doesn't exist. After explaining our error, the staff member couldn't care less, despite being a new customer... we offered to pay on delivery... wanted to overcharge us! Food was tasty but the non existent customer service from staff has left a bitter taste!

2 years agoOrdered food over an hour and 45 minutes ago. The food still hadn't arrived. When I rang to chase the colleage was rude and would only tell me "were waiting for the driver" I've ordered from here over 20 times, but this will definitely be the last. Update the food turned up, cold and half spilt over the side of the packaging

2 years agoTakeaway so can’t say much about the atmosphere of the actual restaurant but the food this evening was great! Definitely recommend Spicy but tasty (tikka madras) yum!

2 years agoAlways enjoyed the food but ordered tonight and was told up to 1 hour delivery. Thats fine but still waiting nearly 2 hours later after phoning them back and been told they would try to get another driver I'm so not impressed!

3 years agoSo the first time using this place we was a bit sceptical because of don’t like changing Indians but we tried it anyway, it looks amazing on pictures so we tried it, when I went inside it wasn’t very glamorous and I did get slightly worried to be honest as the entrance was just a weird feel to be honest, but then we had the food and it was lovely I can’t complain at one thing 5/5 for the food tho so well done guys ?. Also really cheap for collection just over £20 for starter and two mains.

3 years agoFood is always amazing and great service. I don’t think you can eat in anymore but when you could the staff were so nice and friendly! Takeaway is always hot and food is unreal. Wouldn’t order from any other Indian

3 years agoMoved to leigh over a year ago tried a few of the indian takeaways around the town and Indian 1 has to be the best. Great food. Delivery fast and I have been into collect a few times and the staff are so friendly make it feel homely. even showed me the kitchen very clean! Big plus for me. Recommend to anyone

3 years agoVery poor service.two hours and forty five minutes, 5 phone calls being told it's on its way. Was only 2 items both barely warm and nan overdone. Hope you're not Hungry. We were told it was out for delivery and should be with us with in 5 minutes on the first call. On the second call you then said it had not come through. Still took another 3 calls, being told its on its way. So not all down to Uber eats delay in sending order through and were they responsible for burnt nan and barely warm food

4 years agoHad takeaway several times from here and always been bang on. My wife says the chicken tikka masala is the best she's ever had and I've got to say the chicken bhuna was tops and the chicken tikka and lamb tikka kebabs we had last night are to die for. Keep it up and the delivery guy was very friendly too.

4 years agoPopped in at short notice. Had a delicious couple of meals. Bring your own drink was a nice surprise. Think it might have changed hands or changed the chef. Will be going back again.

4 years agoUsually bang on from here, but one of my favourite part of an Indian is the garlic nann... Safe to say it was closer to a deadly weapon than something I'd eat. Quite disappointed.

4 years agoUsually very quick delivery and good size portions, tonight was over 2 hours waiting for meal not even eaten it, opened tray of curry and less than half full and lucky to see 3 pieces of meat, the bag was full of oily grease inside, very disappointing won't be having any more from there waste of money. So sorry for this review but was totally disappointed with waiting time, quality of food and presentation.

4 years agoWe enjoyed our food. BUT both curries where saturated in oil had to drain it, also the spicy popadoms came and wasn’t even a full one it was just pieces of a popadom that didn’t make a whole one… overall tasty.

4 years agoWorst dine in restaurant experience ever! Walked in and there was nobody around to show us to a table, was left hanging around the building for 20 mins. Eventually got seated, restaurant was absolutely freezing (other people also complained but no heating was put on). There was one man who would randomly come from cooking the takeaways downstairs to take restaurant orders but he would disappear for long periods of time so you would be sat unable to order, or when you had finished a course you would be left waiting for 30 mins before anyone came back up to realise you'd finished. Asked for some drinks and they had no stock, got a strong bow dark fruit it was flat. Some appetizers I saw the man just go into a store cupboard and wack a few pre-made items onto a plate (complete put off). Some food was barely warm. No atmosphere. Save yourself the money and disappointment and go to a proper Indian like Aman's or Bombay 8.

4 years agoBy far the best Indian in Leigh. Staff always pleasant with nothing too much trouble! Best lamb bhuna I have ever had! If you’re looking for the best, look no further as you’ve found it! Cheers again guys!

4 years agoWould love to say, this is by far the best indian i have had. Just moved recently to atherton and my neighbours recommended this place. Came a little late but understandable as it was a Saturday night. Food came piping hot and filled with flavours. Cannot wait to dine in

5 years agoOrdered a takeaway tonight, the delivery took 1hr 45 mins the initial estimated delivery said 50mins but this changed as soon as ordered it to 1hr 15mins. As a Saturday night, I understand that this is going to take some time but I still expect it to arrive hot, it was luke warm. I did want to order popadams with mango chutney however the popadams where 70p each and you can't order mango chutney on its own and you could only get a chutney tray which has a mix of difference things for £2.00 I felt this was expensive when I don't even like the other things so I never ordered them. Whilst I understand this is great for people who do like them and it's more sale for the takeaway they also loose out on customers like myself who refuse to pay almost £4 for what I want. The garlic nan tasted like a plain nan and didn't have any garlic or paste on it. I had seen a previous review that this was something they cut back on which is a shame as the nan tasted nice once I warmed the dinner up. The vegetable rice was very tasty however when I lifted the lid of my my lamb curry it looked half empty and hardly any sauce. I understand costs etc but serve it in smaller tray and at least then expectations will not be as disappointing as mine were. This made the dish feel quite dry despite it looking quite greasy. The lamb tasted really nice and there seemed to be enough, it just needed some more curry sauce. The sauce it self tasted quite greasy and had little and little on the blander side which was such a shame as the meat was so nice. This was my first order with them but there was no freebie in the bag which you normally see on a first order, however this might not be there policy. Overall with the time it took, the disappointment of not being able to buy mango chutney only, the garlic nan having no garlic or very little garlic on it, the fact the meal arrived luke warm and had so little curry sauce, I would be reluctant to order again from them. This is a shame as their rice and meat was very good and I would recommend. I have tried to be as constructive as possible so they can look into these issues and hopefully make some improvements or tweaks for future customers new and old.

5 years agoI bought more or less the same order as last Sunday but very disappointed this week Last week was great but this week no salad trays to accompany the starters , very Luke warm food and took 1 hr and 30 minutes to arrive I would have sent it all back if it was not so late to come but I reheated it in the microwave Will not be going back

5 years agoOrdered takeaway for the first time tonight. Absolutely EXCELLENT food, delivered on time. Food was hot. Lamb was lovely and tender with absolutely no fat or gristle. Would highly recommend and definitely will be my favourite leigh takeaway from now
