Gill Opticians

Went on my first visit along with my granddaughter - both for a new test. My daughter recommended this optician, how pleased am I that she did. Its not actually local to me but well worth the bus journey. The optician himself was extremely professional, referred me for cataract removal - following week appointment received, pre op, week after first one removed, now booked in for the second after which time I will need new reading glasses. This is a local practice, the support and admin staff are fantastic, helpful great customer service and always a welcoming smile. Well done to this local practice. Highly recommend them

Excellent service from the team at Gills I had a subconjuctival hemorrhage which is a broken blood vessel just under the surface of your eye. It looks a lot worse than it actually is !! I was at the airport due to fly to Cyprus so asked for help. Cut a long story short the paramedic said I needed to see an ophthalmologist to get it checked. Using the CUES service, emergency eye service, I had a video appointment with the optician at Gills whilst waiting at the airport. He did a thorough examination, asked questions and advised that I was ok to fly. He emailed a Telemed form to prove to the airport staff that it was ok to travel. If it wasn’t for the amazing and very quick service I wouldn’t have made the flight at all. Many thanks to the team that made it possible, from the initial conversation with the dispensing optician Clare explaining how urgent this was to the video call with the optician Sul. Thankful that such great customer care and customer service exists.

Go here with grandson, for several years wouldn't go anywhere else, and we now also go with grand daughter, the staff are amazing, friendly, professional and listen to the customers needs. They were very patient with grand daughter today... Highly recommemd .

Absolutely love gills opticians the staff are amazing.. my kids all go, two who need glasses and i can not fault them at all they are so accommodating and go above and beyond to help when their is any issue with glasses.. my youngest lad is autistic and the staff where amazing with him getting his eyes tested. Wouldn’t use any other opticians been going hear with my kids over 7 years. What makes this opticians the best has got to be the amazing staff!

I have visited this opticians a number of times and I can’t praise them enough. There is always a friendly welcoming atmosphere whilst being very professional. Always a great choice of frames, I highly recommend

it's bad . I made an appointment and then went to them. He said that you had been examined before. I said yes, then he said to me, “Do you have the examination paper?” I came home and then brought the paper. He told me to go to the person who examined your eyes for the first time and give you glasses. That's funny.

First time here this morning and what a lovely team. Welcoming and friendly and very professional. talked me through the eye test and what was happening etc... felt relaxed in the atmosphere and the newly refurbed shop looks great! Will be sticking to this opticians from today! Thank you!!!!

Allow me to start from the end. Gill Opticians came to my rescue after over month of trying to find a sustainable solution to my eye problem. Lindsay and her team were amazing and have my highest recommendation. They falsified the phrase "out of sight out of mind" for my sight was on thier mind through out. It's been my lifetime experience that one has to wait for 7 days plus to get glasses an error Gill Opticians took less than 24hrs. I'm sure had I come in the morning I would have collected my glasses same day. All this for no extra charge. Did I mention the sent a text that my glasses ? were ready for collection. This saved me time, saved me money because I didn't have to call when to come. On arrival all was ready for collection. What more can one ever ask for Christmas. Flashback I lost my pair of glasses ealry November and my journey of, once was blind but now I see, began. I had a spare pair of glasses however I broke the right hand temple. Thought of replacing the frame when I saw a special online. Bought it and when I got it replacing the temple wasn't simple because I got served with a fake. The Temple snapped off the frame. Gill Opticians were able to take my old pair of glasses, recreate the lens and give me a frame at an affordable price. I'd swear someone played secret Santa in there. Sadly since Mr Gill is working less hours this practice has changed. All sales and not a great deal of compassion, knowledge of the patients background and no individuality. Mr Gill had all of the above in bucket loads and it's sad when things change. Kelly the optician has been great and covers all of the above but the others I question ? The original staff front of house are as good as ever, especially Bev.

Absolutely over the moon at my treatment at Gills optitions .I was devastated back in October 2021 at the age.of 73 when I was told I couldn't drive due to cataract on both eyes .Was sent to Spa Medica in Bolton for ops where treatment is second to none today back at Gills I have perfect eyesight I can drive again but most of all I have my life back .Thanks to all concerned xx

Me and my family have been using Gills for 30 years and we have always had first class service. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and will go above and beyond for you. They have a brilliant range of designer frames and sunglasses too. I got my glasses made the same day as my eye test! Outstanding.

Appalling customer service rang when I booked appointment that I had a SEES voucher. Since I booked appointment they decided to no longer honour them without telling me turned up and couldn’t help me. As a carer of an autistic young man trying to get cover for care this treatment is awful….no apology anything and treated me as though it was my fault!!! Don’t use

Spoke with Kelly over the phone and arranged a time to take a pair of sunglasses and a pair of spectacles in to be mended. Within 15 minutes off dropping them off they were ready to collect. They charged me absolutely 0 pounds and pence. Absolutely free of charge. Best Opticians in Leigh without a doubt.

You will not find a better opticians than Gills. I have been a customer for over 20 years and recommend it to anyone. Mr Gill is a wonderful optician - so caring and personable. No matter who you see you will receive top class service. All staff I have ever met have been friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and service is second to none.

Ànother visit to Gill Opticians with 100% satisfaction.The staff and customer service are excellent. I was dealt with by Beverley, who certainly knows her stuff. She was thorough, courteous, professional (as always)and made it an enjoyable experience. I was so impressed with the visit, well worth trying in my opinion.

Had my first experience of this practice & am absolutely delighted. Mr Gill is the best optician I have ever had in my (long!!) life. I am so totally impressed, I cannot stress enough just how talented he is. No hesitation in recommending this practice as being the very best one around.
